The Classroom Pack

The Classroom Pack comprises:

Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbooks include information and strategies to help teachers enhance social skills in their classroom environment and build practical strategies to reduce and manage bullying. The five levels designed for students aged 4 to13 years include activities that support the reduction and prevention of bullying, with a strong emphasis on resilience, positive communication, self-management and social responsibility.

Student Activity Books

Student Activity Books are provided to support each Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbook. The Student Activity Books provide a record of students’ understandings, attitudes and application of the concepts and skills taught in each learning activity.

Friendly Schools & Families Posters

A set of eleven A3 coloured posters have been developed to complement the teaching and learning activities and to promote the common understandings developed in the Friendly Schools & Families Program.

Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbook Level 1

Classroom Teaching & Learning Handbook Level 1

The Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbook Level 1 is designed for the majority of students aged 4-5 years.

This level introduces young students to activities in cooperation and being friendly as well as skills to help them recognise unfriendly behaviour.

Level 1 also teaches students about listening skills, helping others, sharing and how to make and keep a friend.

Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbook Level 2

Classroom Teaching & Learning Handbook Level 2

The Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbook Level 2 is designed for the majority of students aged 6-7 years.

This level introduces students to dealing with bullying. For example: What do I do if I see bullying? What do I do if I am bullied? Asking for help. As well as teaching students the difference between physical and emotional health.

Friendship and friendship skills (cooperation, etc.) is also covered in more depth and detail than discussed in Level One.

Classroom Teaching & Learning Handbool Level 3

The Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbook Level 3 is designed for the majority of students aged 8-9 years.

Level three begins to explore self-esteem, feeling good about themselves and using positive self-talk.

Level three covers types of bullying such as teasing and exclusion and the skills to deal with these types of bullying.

This level also teaches students about using buddy systems and cooperating with each other.

Classroom Teaching & Learning Handbool Level 4

The Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbook Level 4 is designed for the majority of students aged 10-11 years.

Level four explores in detail why people bullying, how students can avoid participating in bullying or being bullies themselves, as well as what they can do if faced with a bullying situation.

Level four also discusses values, manners, conflict, self-image and rules.

Classroom Teaching & Learning Handbook Level 5

The Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbook Level 5 is designed for the majority of students aged 12-13 years.

Level five discusses the role of bystanders and how they effect bullying situations. As well exploring bystander choices and the prevention of students being bystanders.

Level five explains teasing and how this can effect body image. Level five also teaches skills to take the sting out of teasing.
