Friendly Schools and Families Materials
The Friendly Schools & Families Whole-school Pack aims to help school
communities enhance their skills, knowledge and capacity to implement
an evidence-based whole-school approach to the prevention and reduction
of bullying. It also helps schools to engage families in this process.
The Whole-school Pack is divided into six handbooks to provide a systematic plan of 'small steps' for school teams to implement a successful social skill building and bullying reduction program that also addresses the National Safe Schools Framework.
The Whole-school Pack consists of this School Team Handbook and CD ROM, a Parent’s Guide and six component handbooks that are full of resources and school case studies outlining how real schools have successfully reduced bullying and created a Friendly School community environment.
Classroom Teaching and Learning Handbooks
include information and strategies to help teachers enhance social
skills in their classroom environment and build practical strategies
to reduce and manage bullying. The five levels designed for students
aged 4 to13 years include activities that support the reduction and
prevention of bullying, with a strong emphasis on resilience, positive
communication, self-management and social responsibility.
